About The Position

The Engineer I supports the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of sink products and related accessories. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role contributes to product development projects, engineering analyses, laboratory testing, design documentation, and sustaining engineering activities. The Engineer I collaborates closely with Product Management, Operations, Quality, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to ensure products meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • Strong 2D drawing and 3D modeling skills, Solidworks preferred.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with various sheet metal manufacturing processes like forming, drawing, annealing and welding.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude in a test lab environment
  • Support DFMEA and design review activities
  • Ability to work proficiently on cross functional teams to achieve product development goals
  • Ability to develop and execute action plans
  • Familiarity with third party certification agencies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with overseas sourcing and manufacturing a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components and systems for NPD initiatives related to the sinks and faucet product lines.
  • Direct involvement in all aspects of product development, including ideation, prototyping, design verification, and production validation.
  • Evaluate customer feedback, customer requirements, existing product designs, and performance standards to support the development of new products.
  • Research, make recommendations, and execute product design enhancements or modifications to support cost reduction and quality improvements
  • Serve as part of a multi-disciplinary team to promote and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Help drive manufacturing optimization and cost reductions through innovative teamwork and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and lab technicians to develop and execute in-house validation tests .
  • Collaborate with the drafting/design team to properly document all new designs within the document control system, including 2D drawings, 3D models, bills of materials, routers, and technical literature.
