About The Position

The Transmission Operations Engineering position provides real-time reliability support for the ERCOT footprint. The role requires an engaged team member who can learn technical skills and participate in collaborative discussions. The position performs reliability engineering, supports compliance efforts, contributes to operational processes and guides, and participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation. Senior and principal level roles also coordinate work, provide guidance to lower-level employees, and perform engineering assignments with limited direction. The position applies power-flow concepts and analytical techniques to assess transmission systems and equipment, support planning and operational decisions, and recommend process improvements. Work includes preparing technical reports and analyses, coordinating project planning and cost inputs, recognizing risks and resolving problems, and collaborating with peers and stakeholders. Electrical engineering degrees are preferred. The role is on-site with American Electric Power.
