About The Position

Tatham Engineering is seeking an experienced Engineer, Project Manager or Senior Engineer, Project Manager for their Land Development department in Ottawa. This role involves the planning, design, and approval of land development projects, including storm and sanitary sewers, stormwater management systems, watermains, grading, roads, and parking lots. Responsibilities include preparing tender and construction contract documents, providing construction inspection and contract administration, conducting class environmental assessments, servicing studies, feasibility studies, water distribution and sewage collection analysis, conceptual and preliminary design, and final design and drawings with coordination of utilities and sub-consultants. The position also entails providing technical direction, mentoring junior staff, and assisting with business development.

Requirements

  • P.Eng. in the Province of Ontario
  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Excellent design and project management skills
  • Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards
  • Demonstrated abilities as a team leader, responsible for mentoring and coordinating a team of support staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/French) would be an asset
  • Experience with business development is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Planning, design, and approval of land development projects including storm and sanitary sewers, stormwater management systems and infrastructure, watermains, grading, roads and parking lots.

  • Provision of construction inspection and contract administration.
  • Conducting class environmental assessments, servicing studies, and feasibility studies.
  • Performing water distribution and sewage collection analysis.
  • Conceptual design, preliminary design, and completion of final design and drawings.
  • Coordination of utilities and other engineering disciplines and sub-consultants.
  • Providing technical direction, mentoring, and training to junior staff.
  • Assisting the Group Leader and Branch Manager with business development.
