About The Position

Join Advanced Bionics as an Engineer, Research and help develop innovative software and firmware solutions for cochlear implant systems and implantable hearing technologies. You will work in a collaborative research environment alongside software developers, DSP engineers, scientists, and clinicians to evaluate emerging technologies and advance the future of hearing healthcare.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Completed engineering internship with experience in embedded software development for consumer electronic products.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C#/.NET.
  • Understanding of modern software architecture and software-development principles.
  • Experience contributing to complex, high-quality commercial software products.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools, including code-generation or automation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn emerging technologies and systems.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and contribute ideas that advance team and project goals.
  • A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of firmware and software for cochlear implant systems and other implantable hearing solutions.
  • Contribute to software codebases using C and C#/.NET under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Assist with software verification activities, including unit testing, automated testing, and system testing.
  • Troubleshoot software and system issues and participate in root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using version control and software-development best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain software requirements, design documentation, engineering records, and test reports.
  • Support research projects through prototyping, data collection, analysis, and evaluation of emerging technologies.
  • Learn and apply applicable medical-device quality-system and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records in accordance with internal quality and regulatory requirements.
