Transmission Interconnections Planning helps Georgia Power’s strategy to meet the energy needs of customers and support the state’s expected continued extraordinary growth by serving on the team that studies generator interconnection requests. A key component of the strategy is to procure up to 4,000 MW of renewable resources by 2035. The Engineer/Project Manager coordinates with Georgia Power, Southern Company Services, and ITS Participants to address Transmission Service and Generation Interconnection requests in line with FERC, state, and reliability standards. This role manages communications with all parties and ensures timely, accurate responses to each request. The position will also support customer DER initiatives through interconnection planning, technical review, stakeholder coordination, and project implementation activities. Candidates who do not currently live in the Metro Atlanta area may be eligible for relocation assistance, which will be evaluated individually as necessary. This position may be filled as a salary grade SCE03, SCE04, SCE05 or SCE06. Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education, and certifications may be eligible for the more advanced position.
