Engineer/Principal Engineer RF Microwave Design - Subsystems I&T

Northrop Grumman•Baltimore, MD
•$87,600 - $163,200

About The Position

Northrop Grumman Missions Systems is seeking experienced RF engineers in areas including antennas, electromagnetics, computational electromagnetics, RF/microwave design, digital beamforming, hardware/subsystem integration and test, and antenna control design. The successful candidate will work with a diverse engineering team to develop innovative, cost-effective systems across product areas and program lifecycles, and must communicate technical approaches and findings effectively. The role involves testing and troubleshooting RF architecture Line Replacement Units (LRUs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), recommending data-driven requirements threshold adjustments, performing subsystem analyses spanning RF through digital hardware, and supporting performance testing and requirements verification. Candidates may be hired at either the Engineer or Principal Engineer level. This is a second-shift role, scheduled Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:59 p.m., with a 10% shift differential. The position requires a current, active Government Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. Relocation assistance may be available, and travel is 10% of the time. Salary ranges are $87,600–$131,400 for the primary level and $108,800–$163,200 for the secondary level. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus.

Requirements

  • For Engineer level: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline and 2 years of relevant experience; alternatively, 0 years of experience with a master's degree, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • For Principal Engineer level: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, 3 years of experience with a master's degree, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current, active Government Secret clearance.
  • Problem-solving skills for RF/microwave design and test problems of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering, design software, and equipment.
  • Expertise testing and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience or expertise troubleshooting RF hardware/subsystems.
