About The Position

Working independently this role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of packaging solutions that ensure product protection, functionality, and sustainability. The position involves managing tactical plans aligned with short-term business objectives and addressing moderate to complex challenges that impact multiple teams within the division. The role requires advanced expertise in executing processes and projects related to packaging, including material selection, structural design, and compliance with industry standards and within strategic guidelines. This role requires significant cross-functional collaboration, and has increased ownership and scope acting as primary packaging support for single plant, brand or category. This role collaborates with peers to improve ways of working and share BDP's.

Requirements

3+ Years of Packaging Engineering experience
Product Packaging - The technology of enclosing or protecting products for distribution, storage, sale, and use. Packaging also refers to the process of design, evaluation, and production of packages.
Problem Solving - Problem Solving is a step-by-step process of defining a problem, searching for information, and testing a series of solutions until the problem is solved. Involves critical thinking, analysis and persistence.

Planning - Ability to anticipate resource needs and then arrange, prioritize and shape activities to meet objectives.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions ensuring product protection, performance, and sustainability. Apply engineering knowledge to meet requirements.
Select and qualify packaging materials and components based on product requirements and cost. Evaluate environmental impact and manufacturing capabilities.
Apply strong manufacturing and equipment knowledge to ensure packaging meets production requirements. Validate designs for manufacturability.
Support product development through packaging engineering expertise. Contribute to specifications and testing.
Document technical work and maintain packaging specifications. Ensure records are accurate and accessible.
