About The Position

Norlee Group, Inc., is a multi-trade building systems organization delivering integrated electrical, mechanical, and technology solutions across commercial, industrial, institutional, and specialty markets. As part of our continued growth under the One Norlee platform, we are seeking an Engineer (Mechanical) in the Tampa area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to research
  • General computer skills with the willingness to learn new programs and applications
  • Good work ethic with the ability to multi-task
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to conduct themselves properly in an office atmosphere
  • Willingness to adapt to company procedures and standards

Nice To Haves

  • EIT is preferred, but not required, with the desire to become a Professional Engineer
  • Field experience relating to the installation of commercial HVAC systems is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Coordination with Designers, Modelers, and Drafters for the preparation of mechanical and plumbing permit and construction documents
  • Coordination with Owners, Developers, Architects, other Engineering Disciplines, Vendors, and Contractors
  • Layout of HVAC systems, including equipment, ductwork, air distribution, piping, and other specialty systems, as dictated by project
  • Layout of plumbing systems, including water, sanitary, vent, grease waste, natural gas, and other specialty systems, as dictated by project
  • Cooling load calculations and energy code calculations
  • Development and editing of project specifications
  • Preparation of equipment and plumbing fixture schedules
  • Construction Administration including the review of shop drawings and submittals, responding to questions from Clients/Contractors/Inspectors, and site visits to observe and document existing conditions and/or systems installation
