As a Mechanical Systems Engineer on the ARC Robotics Technology Development team, you will enable new automation initiatives across GM Manufacturing Operations. This role focuses on robotic tooling, fixtures, mechanisms, and machine hardware that can be built, tested, validated, and scaled for plant use. The ARC Robotics Technology Development team develops advanced robotics and automation solutions for GM Manufacturing Operations. The team bridges concept development and real manufacturing applications by creating technologies that solve practical plant problems and are ready for validation and deployment. As an Engineer focused on Mechanical Systems, you will design and develop the core mechanical hardware for robotic and automated systems. This includes end effectors, fixtures, structural assemblies, guarding concepts, and custom mechanisms. You will work closely with electrical, integration, simulation, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, serviceable, and ready for testing.
