Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 5 years of rotating equipment experience preferred
  • 5 years of experience using vibration analytical software with a specific focus on turbomachinery & practical field experience overseeing turbine and compressor overhauls preferred
  • Must be familiar with API 610, 611/612, 614, 617, and 671 (pumps, general and special purpose couplings, lube oil, axial compressors)
  • A commitment to Safety and Environmental leading practices and culture
  • Willingness to collaborate with corporate teams and assist other locations (some travel required; about 5%)
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights up to 250’ above ground level, safely lift to 50lbs, walk, crawl, bend, stoop, work in confined spaces

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise for rotating equipment systems
  • Analyze equipment failures and lead root cause failure investigations (RCFA)
  • Develop and implement reliability improvement plans for critical assets
  • Monitor asset health through vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and condition monitoring technologies
  • Evaluate equipment performance trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Review and approve equipment repairs, modifications, and upgrades
  • Develop engineering solutions to address recurring equipment issues
  • Review equipment specifications, drawings, P&IDs, and vendor documentation
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures and process upsets
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
  • Review engineering packages for compliance with industry standards and plant requirements.
  • Conduct factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs) as required
