About The Position

This position is within the submarine COLUMBIA (CLB) ENG-WR group of department E92. This person provides engineering review of Visual Work Instructions (VWIs) and other CLB Engineering Build Authority documents, primarily within the Machinery discipline. These reviews are performed within a model-based manufacturing environment. Ensures Build Authority information provided within the VWI is consistent with the applicable technical authority documents. Reviews engineering change documents for applicability and proper incorporation within the build authority documents. Applies engineering and submarine construction knowledge towards the validation of welds, notes, and dimensions for CLB class submarine construction. Provides training to entry level engineers. Interacts and collaborates with VWI Developers and Planning Personnel to ensure proper understanding of the work to be performed by and the requirements required of the VWI. Frequently uses collaboration tools such as WebEx and Jabber. Uses Teamcenter, NGP, NX SAP and 1TOOL to complete assigned tasks. The incumbent will support engineering review of COLUMBIA VWIs (Visual Work Instructions), meet production rate targets across the program and also support the recovery effort for the COLUMBIA program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience
  • Master’s Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
