About The Position

This position is responsible for providing engineering support to production areas, increasing the plant performance level by improving processes and products, following Kohler Operating System principles and company policies, allowing the facility to operate efficiently, meet its production demands, and cost objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline is required.
  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing or related environment is recommended.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Process Control and Lean Manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering assistance for daily production, quality control, problem solving, cost reduction and meeting delivery schedules.
  • Executes defect elimination projects by using Lean Methodology
  • Promotes continuous improvements in safety, quality and cost in plant operations.
  • Works closely with all involved engineering functions on the development or purchase of any process equipment.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of any products and capital projects into the plant.
  • Evaluate and assess the applicability and efficiency of the production methodology, materials, and equipment used in manufacturing.
  • Assess and support procedures and guidelines established for Manufacturing Engineering to execute design changes, implementation of procedures and reference documents, and all responsibilities of Process Engineering.
  • Develop and implement improvements using new technology, industry expertise, corporate and local resources, and/or other means to optimize the manufacturing process, quality, and marketability of the plants products as well as improve the effectiveness of manufacturing operations, lower production costs and improve safety.
  • Keep current on all manufacturing processes in the plant in the areas of safety, quality, cost, capacity and material flow.
  • Monitor and research new technical developments and manufacturing processes for possible application in the plant.
  • Support projects aimed at improving overall warranty performance from both a cost and unit failure rate perspective.
  • Champion continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts to constantly improve the process and lower costs.
  • Provide assistance in vendor selection, equipment specification, and quotation reviews.
