This position is responsible for responding to and attending to guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues, and performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. The role requires a thorough understanding of building systems, emergency response, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The engineer will perform highly complex repairs on the physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration, and pool heaters, often with little or no supervision. They will also conduct routine property inspections, inspect and repair mechanical equipment, and use the Lockout/Tagout system. Advanced knowledge of maintenance contracts, vendors, and engineering computer programs for preventative maintenance and energy management is expected. The role involves advanced troubleshooting of MEP systems and the ability to train and mentor other engineers, as well as supervise work and act in a supervisory role in the absence of management. The engineer will also be responsible for performing Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds. Additionally, the role requires adherence to all company and safety policies, maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality, protecting company assets, and providing excellent guest service according to company standards. This includes anticipating and addressing guest needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests with appreciation. The position also involves developing and maintaining positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and communicating effectively. Physical requirements include lifting objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, moving up and down stairs and ladders, and performing tasks such as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Computer proficiency for entering and locating work-related information is also necessary.
