About The Position

Intermediate professional civil engineering work in the research, design and construction of engineering projects; and related work as required.

Requirements

  • Permanent status with the City of New Orleans or the Sewerage and Water Board as an Engineer Intern I (formerly Engineer-In-Training I) and eighteen (18) months of experience as an Engineer Intern I.
  • Possession of a certificate from the Louisiana State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors stating that the applicant has been certified and enrolled as an Engineer Intern and eighteen (18) months of engineering experience following EIT Certification.
  • If hired, applicants must show proof of Louisiana Engineer Intern registration during their probationary period.
  • Original documents of qualifying credentials must be provided to the hiring agency prior to the start date.

  • Out-of-State registrations are acceptable.
  • Field work may be required for some engineering positions.
  • Employees may be required to have automobiles for some positions.
  • A current driver's license should be on the applicant's person for purposes of identification during all phases of an examination.
