About The Position

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values-driven individual to join our dynamic team as an Engineer-in-Training. In this role, you will support facility integrity work, including asset inspections, maintenance and repair projects, risk and engineering assessments, and the management of facility asset records and data. You will also contribute to capital project initiatives by helping develop project requirements, prepare key documentation, and coordinate with internal teams, operations, engineering, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Process, Petroleum, or related discipline.
• 3 to 6 years of progressive experience.
• Pipeline engineering and operational experience are preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical, civil, electrical, process, or petroleum engineering.
• A track record of delivering high‑quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
• Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to inclusive practices and a willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Manage facility integrity inspection projects for piping, tanks, pressure vessels and other facility assets.
• Assist with the collection, processing, and storage, of facility integrity records and data contained therein.
• Assist with the development of standards, procedures, and other controlled documents, for the continuous improvement of the facility integrity management program.
• Manage or support facility asset maintenance and repair projects.
• Assist with the execution of the annual facility integrity risk assessment, or other engineering assessments for facility assets.
• Support Facility Integrity Capital Project Initiatives by leading the development and execution of operations and sustaining capital projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare essential project documentation, including scopes of work, cost estimates, tender packages, bid evaluations, budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
• Collaborate with regional teams, technical services, operations, and engineering to define and develop project requirements.
• Provide project engineering and management oversight, ensuring effective coordination with third-party firms, AFE preparation, design and drawing reviews, permitting, hazard analysis, and cost/schedule control.
• Identify and assess risks or changes that could impact project scope, quality, cost, or schedule, while maintaining alignment with approved scope, safety standards, technical specifications, and overall project objectives.
