About The Position

The Engineer-in-Training, Production Engineering (Bluenose Team), plays a key role in bringing Canada’s most advanced ships to life by developing innovative engineering solutions that enable safe, efficient, and high-quality ship construction. This position drives production success through the creation of detailed Manufacturing Instructions (MIs) for complex installation activities, the review and approval of Vendor Furnished Information (VFI), and the evaluation of production drawings to ensure accuracy and constructability. The Engineer-in-Training also designs and drafts custom jigs, fixtures, and templates that support efficient production, while planning and executing engineering test programs that help introduce new products, technologies, and processes to the shipyard. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role combines technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving to continuously improve how ships are built and delivered.
