About The Position

KCI Technologies is hiring a Marine Engineer-in-Training to join our team. This role performs work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures or equipment. Assignments include but are not limited to: design and development, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific, narrow area of assignments. The Engineer-in-Training will work collaboratively with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary design/engineering projects, coordinate the work of Engineers and others who may assist on specific assignments, and review input from Project or Technical Managers to make necessary adjustments and corrections to work product. The role requires performing work in a timely and effective manner within assigned schedules and budgets. Experience on all phases of design as well as provided construction administration/bid phase services is preferred. Field experience and ability to work with clients, contractors, and other disciplines is preferred but not required. An EIT certification is preferred, but the ability to obtain one within 1 year is required. The role requires a multi-tasker with the ability to perform structural design and development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel structures.

Requirements

  • 0-2 Years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
  • General knowledge of required design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to maintain required certifications
  • Ability to get EIT certification in 1 year

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on all phases of design as well as provided construction administration/bid phase services is preferred
  • Field experience and ability to work with clients, contractors, and other disciplines is preferred not required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Previous internships or work experience in the Engineering field.
