About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer-In-Training in Alberta with APEGA.
  • 2-4 years of related experience in oil and gas engineering, operations, project management, and/or project development.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication between all team members.
  • Project management skills to prepare projects to move from development to sanction/execution.
  • The ability to work independently and self-prioritize and handle changing priorities and work tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with oil and gas is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate stakeholder management; preliminary determination of regulatory requirements; completion of front-end engineering and designs, cost estimates, and project execution strategies are developed.
  • Develop realistic and reliable project schedules and cost estimates for projects, while appropriately defining risks, uncertainties and likelihood for those schedules and cost estimates.
  • Develop charters for Rough Order of Magnitude to Class 3 scope supported by estimates and schedules to meet the needs of various sponsors. Charters define critical information, specific to each project to be used by executive management to make decisions.
  • Provide regular formal and informal project management reporting to Senior Management and stakeholders on assigned projects.
