This position builds upon basic engineering theories, concepts, and principles in order to progress to a licensed professional engineer. Under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer, this position will apply and implement engineering theories, principles, and standards. The technical focus for this position is to provide engineering knowledge and support to the PE I and PE II positions in the Region Hydraulics Unit. Perform design calculations, analysis, and construction supporting documentation for draining and conveying stormwater related to CDOT transportation infrastructure. Review and comment on drainage designs with other agencies and consultants in collaboration with the Hydraulics Unit Resident Engineer. Support the preparation of floodplain compliance documents to satisfy local, state and federal regulations. Review the adequacy of drainage designs of others and prepare comments to private and public entities. Provide support to Project Engineers and Resident Engineers with technical assistance in preparing analyses and designs on stormwater design, rehabilitation, and repair projects.
