By joining our New Castle Section as an Engineer-in-Training I in Henry County, you’ll have the opportunity to perform technical engineering work in road construction and maintenance; develop practical skills in support to academic theory to provide sufficient competence to qualify for register as a professional engineer.

Requirements

Graduate of a college or university with an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.

Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
Certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Oversee portions of highway projects to analyze data collected
Recommend, review and, or, alter design plans through a series of detailed engineering steps or processes
Determine various tasks performed by the contractor conform to approved plans and engineering standards
Analyze results of test on construction materials for conformance with engineering standards and specifications
Apply engineering principles to highway construction and maintenance
