About The Position

Stanley Consultants is seeking a motivated, energetic, and ambitious Engineer-In-Training 1 for their DeBary, FL office. This role offers the opportunity to gain meaningful engineering experience on highway projects, including roadway studies and design, drainage and utility systems, preliminary and final design, preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, project scheduling, and large, complex highway corridors. The position involves collaborating with and learning from experienced Professional Engineers and being mentored by industry leaders in transportation. The Engineer-In-Training will support experienced engineers on transportation projects, including plan development for a comprehensive range of transportation design projects, such as horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway modeling, quantities calculations, construction specifications, and utility coordination. The role also offers the chance to work with a diverse client base and contribute to the communities served by the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • Engineer Intern (EIT) registration required, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • 2+ years of civil engineering experience, prior relatable internship/co-op experience preferred.
  • Proven communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs.
  • Experience with or capable to learn Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil3D.
  • Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to work remotely based on business operations and the needs of the firm.
  • Proven strong work ethic and a collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

  • Design roadway projects and associated components such as roadway pavement, stormwater drainage, signing and pavement markings, signalization, lighting, and utilities.
  • Prepare construction plans and develop roadway 3D models using computer aided drafting and design programs.
  • Prepare and check quantity calculations, design calculations, and engineering reports.
  • Conduct project site visits/investigations and attend construction meetings.
  • Research and understand City, County, State, Federal, and International Engineering Design Standards.
  • Adhering to company standards for quality control.
