About The Position

This position supports an engineering team responsible for delivering electric distribution solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers. Engineers manage projects from concept through construction while collaborating with customers, developers, contractors, and operations personnel to ensure successful project delivery and an excellent customer experience. In this role, the engineer will serve within the distribution business unit, acting as the primary contact for customers, stakeholders, and internal teams throughout the entire lifecycle of new construction projects. Whether managing commercial or residential work orders, the engineer will take ownership of each project, ensuring clear communication and coordination from initial customer request through project completion. The successful candidate will be highly customer service oriented, capable of anticipating and addressing client needs, and adept at building relationships with diverse groups. The Engineer III position is the advanced level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer III position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. An Engineer III is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer III effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied. The Senior Engineer manages work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. The Senior Engineer is expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. Employees in the Senior Engineer position are fully competent in the use of concepts and procedures. The Senior Engineer identifies problems, develops solutions and takes action to resolve.

Requirements

Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience
A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.
Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or PE
Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer.
A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering degrees preferred.
Experience with CAD software, PoleForeman, and/or Maximo.
Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.
Increasingly proficient in principles of project management.
Experience in the utility industry.
Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department.
Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles.
Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations.
Good written and oral communication skills.
