The Component Management Engineer gathers information and processes requests for component qualifications and component changes, including shortages, end-of-life (EOL) notices, Material Change Requests (MCRs), and Product Change Notices (PCNs) for production PCBAs. These products include radio boards, network equipment, metrology, and battery-powered gas and water endpoints. The role also handles component-level deliverables for new product introduction (NPI) projects, including Component Risk Mitigation Reports (CRMRs), second-sourcing components, and mitigating component risks during preproduction release. The engineer participates in product cost-out opportunities and may lead activities that do not require PCBA changes. The role supports both sustaining engineering and new product development, working with the Component Manager, GCM, R&D, and cross-disciplinary teams to select, source, evaluate, and introduce components into production. It provides technical direction, supports project milestones and design reviews, evaluates component notices, and contributes to supplier diversification, cost reduction, and regulatory compliance. The position may involve up to 10% travel.
