Primary Purpose/Job (Position) Summary This position serves as an Engineer II with the Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources (DEMLR). This position primarily works in the Post Construction State Stormwater program to perform skilled professional engineering work and reviews, evaluate projects for compliance, and provide technical assistance. This position will have some secondary duties associated with the other DEMLR programs such as the review of plans for Erosion/Sediment Control, Mine Operation and Reclamation and Dam Safety. Many skills are required including being able to manage multiple priorities, having excellent technical writing and public speaking skills as well as a strong understanding of hydrology, soils, vegetation, hydraulics, and detailed engineering concepts related to all aspects of stormwater collection, treatment and discharge. Other important purposes of this position are to perform inspections, provide technical guidance to Land Quality Environmental Specialists within the regional office, handle citizen inquiries/complaints, document compliance/enforcement actions, and may occasionally present at training programs for DEQ staff, local governments, industry, consulting firms, and developers.
