Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is about more than power; it's about the power of relationships. Employees work together to ensure electricity is delivered reliably and affordably to millions in their service territory. SPP has been recognized as one of Arkansas’ Best Places to work and operates with a core ideology: Do the right thing, for the right reason, in the right way. Engineers at SPP are highly motivated individuals who contribute to maintaining reliability and advancing the Bulk Electric System (BES). As the industry evolves to integrate renewables while maintaining reliability, skilled next-generation Engineers are crucial. This role offers challenging opportunities in the Planning Coordinator Assessments area, where Engineers perform critical tasks for NERC Compliance, Tariff requirements, and other assigned duties. The position requires an intermediate knowledge of power flow analysis, loss of load expectation studies, and preferably knowledge of transient stability and short circuit analysis. Additionally, familiarity with NERC standards and their relation to study requirements must be developed.
