About The Position

The Role Entegris is currently seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to join our Operations team at our San Luis Obispo, California location. The NPI Engineer is responsible for pulling new products/processes from Development through release to Manufacturing. In this role you will build strong working relationships across the organization, developing partnerships to drive the successful scaleup of products/processes from Development to Manufacturing utilizing a Stage Gate Process. You will be given tasks to help solve technical problems related to manufacturing, safety, cost reduction, quality, and product yield. This role report directly to the Global NPI Sr. Manager of GMC

Requirements

  • Strong communication, documentation, and technical writing skills in English.
  • Experience with SAP ERP (BOMs, routings, and documentation).
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Experience working in a global, cross‑site environment.
  • Strong technical problem‑solving skills (e.g., welding, fabrication, testing, electro‑mechanical systems).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with phase‑gate development processes (e.g., Accolade).
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering).
  • 2+ years of relevant hands‑on experience preferred.

  • Experience in a manufacturing /production environment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with UHP gas purification systems (a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple NPI projects across a fast‑paced product portfolio using the Accolade Phase Gate tool.
  • Work with E R&D, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and production teams to ensure manufacturing readiness and successful product launches.
  • Serve as the NPI liaison between Development Engineering and Operations, driving products from development to release.
  • Partner with Product Development to meet design, manufacturing, and phase‑gate commitments.
  • Develop and execute project plans, including equipment selection, capacity planning, cost reduction, and waste management.
  • Prepare process documentation and support qualification builds and product launches.
  • Support global product/process transfers and intercompany coordination.
  • Influence product and process design to ensure safe, high‑quality, manufacturable solutions through cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Assist with audits and continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
