Requirements

  • BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical degree required
  • 2+ years of engineering experience required
  • Demonstrate proficiency with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
  • Apply mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and analytical methods, to practical situations.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to apply active listening, effective communication, and constructive feedback to support and develop junior engineers and technicians.
  • Define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using strong analytical skills.
  • Lead problem-solving and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Read, interpret, and analyze scientific and technical journals and procedures.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage specific toolsets as assigned.
  • Ensure safe environment for staff.
  • Become tool expert, work PM’s and down tools during staff storages.
  • Improve/maintain uptime.
  • Pareto downtime, drive toward running from PM to PM.
  • Provide technical direction and assist with difficult down tool situations.
  • Arrange vendor support if needed.
  • Manage spare part inventory.
  • Repair obsolete component or find/qualify replacements.
  • Write/update PM procedures.
  • Ensure good communications between the shifts.
  • Implement cost reductions.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and process engineering projects.
  • Qualify new components.
  • Collaborate on yield/qualification/quality issues.
  • Analyze Space Navigator/Watchdog data to drive improvement.
  • Functional area support.
  • Assist area manager with technician training matrix development and implementation.
  • Act as area lead when needed.
