About The Position

The Engineer II, Assembly Process independently supports and improves assigned cell assembly manufacturing processes to achieve quality, productivity, cost, and equipment performance objectives. This position applies engineering principles, statistical analysis, and structured problem-solving methods to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, optimize process parameters, support process changes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 3 years of relevant manufacturing or process engineering experience.
Working knowledge of DOE, SPC, process capability analysis, root cause analysis, process validation, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience using engineering and quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and Failure Analysis.
Ability to independently troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related problems of moderate complexity.
Ability to analyze manufacturing data and translate findings into practical process improvements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate with Production, Quality, Equipment Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple engineering assignments and improvement projects with limited supervision.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers and manufacturing personnel.

Nice To Haves

Experience in lithium-ion battery, automotive, semiconductor, chemical processing, advanced manufacturing, or other high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
Experience with battery cell assembly processes such as stacking/winding, welding, casing, electrolyte filling, or related processes preferred.
Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, or equivalent software preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor, analyze, and improve assigned manufacturing processes to enhance quality, yield, cycle time, OEE, Process Down (PD), scrap, and productivity.
Investigate process and quality issues using structured root cause analysis and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Design and execute DOE, SPC, process capability analysis, and other statistical evaluations to identify process variation and improvement opportunities.
Optimize manufacturing parameters, recipes, specifications, and operating conditions within established engineering and quality requirements.
Maintain and improve PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, process specifications, SOPs, work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation.
Support qualification and validation activities for new materials, equipment, tooling, process changes, and 4M changes.
Support New Model Introduction, process transfers, equipment installation, commissioning, and manufacturing ramp-up activities.
Serve as a primary process engineering resource for assigned production lines and provide technical troubleshooting support to Production, Equipment Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
Analyze manufacturing data and prepare technical reports, recommendations, and improvement proposals for engineering and operational stakeholders.
Participate in continuous improvement, Lean/Six Sigma, cost reduction, automation, and smart manufacturing initiatives.
Support internal and customer audits and ensure assigned processes comply with applicable quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
Provide technical guidance and training to Process Engineer I employees, technicians, operators, and other manufacturing personnel as appropriate.
Coordinate assigned engineering projects and cross-functional improvement activities within established scope, schedule, and technical requirements.
