Engineer II, ADAS SW Integration

Cariad•Mountain View, CA

About The Position

CARIAD, an automotive software development team within the Volkswagen Group, develops a unified software platform and digital experiences for Volkswagen Group brands. The Engineer II, ADAS Software Integration is an early-career individual contributor in the ADAS business unit who executes defined software integration activities with growing independence. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, with responsibility for the quality, reproducibility, and completion of assigned integration work. The engineer makes targeted C/C++ and configuration changes; investigates build, compile, runtime, and deployment issues; supports software packaging and flashing to benches and vehicles; and validates changes across local, CI, bench, and vehicle environments. The engineer works with local ADAS integration teams and Germany-based engineering teams to reproduce issues, analyze logs and traces, implement routine fixes, document findings, and escalate complex issues as needed. The role may involve frequent early-morning calls, virtual meetings, or workshops to overlap with German business hours. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required. Work may take place in bench, lab, or vehicle environments and must follow established safety procedures. A California state driver’s license is required. For Mountain View, California, the stated salary range is $110,210–$159,650, dependent on factors including location, credentials, experience, qualifications, and training. CARIAD also offers performance-based merit increases and an annual bonus. Employment is subject to export-control and sanctions-compliance screening.
