About The Position

The Omaha Marriott at the Capitol District is seeking a dedicated Engineer I to join their dynamic team. This role is responsible for keeping all building and equipment in good repair, minimizing downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance, and performing preventative maintenance of the hotel. The Omaha Marriott Downtown is a premier destination known for its world-class hospitality, sleek design, and exceptional service, located in the heart of downtown Omaha. It is a premier destination with 333 modern rooms and over 15,000 square feet of event space, serving as the anchor of Omaha's vibrant Capitol District. It is steps from the CHI Health Center and Charles Schwab Field, home of the NCAA College World Series.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, SDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
  • Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action, implement solutions and work as an independent mechanic.
  • Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
  • Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous engineering experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CFC Certification for Refrigerant handling and Power Engineering Training Program certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily shift reports including documenting all calls in the Engineer’s log, monitoring and closing out calls through Marriott GXP system.
  • Adhere to all OSHA standards and procedures.
  • Maintain building interior and exterior.
  • Foster excellent guest/associate rapport by promptly addressing requests.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all FF&E.
  • Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water and provide recommendations for improved methods and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and or maintain various building systems and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
