About The Position
JIRACOR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer I to support Navy engineering and sustainment programs. This entry-level role provides an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience supporting technical projects, engineering documentation, and mission-critical initiatives in a collaborative government contracting environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering foundation, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment under direct supervision
- Proficiency with technical documentation and engineering principles
Nice To Haves
- Internship, co-op, or project experience supporting engineering or technical programs
- Experience supporting Navy, DoD, or federal government programs
- Familiarity with technical manuals, provisioning documentation, or sustainment processes
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Quality Control methodologies
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
Responsibilities
- Review technical data packages to ensure compliance with engineering standards and program requirements
- Evaluate engineering and technical referrals in accordance with established processes and procedures
- Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QC/QA) systems
- Review, validate, and develop technical data, technical manuals, and provisioning packages
- Analyze performance data and support the development of Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) models
- Perform a variety of engineering and technical support tasks
- Collaborate with senior engineers and program teams to support project execution and sustainment activities
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering process enhancements
