About The Position
Our Water/Wastewater team in Richmond is looking for an Engineer I to join our team. In this role you will perform design and project delivery for water/wastewater projects, including water distribution systems and sewage collection systems. This is an opportunity to work with a team of experienced project managers in a truly collaborative environment to support our municipal clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
- Zero to two years of experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water and wastewater facilities and conveyance infrastructure (pipelines, force mains, and pump stations)
- A self-starter, versatile, and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting our Water and Wastewater Group
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills required
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Responsibilities
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water and wastewater pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities
- Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to water and wastewater systems
- Assist with the preparation and review of technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Assist with project management activities for select tasks and develop project management skills for expanded responsibilities
- Support field testing and investigations when required
- Support construction projects with office engineering services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders) when required
- Communicate effectively and coordinate with the project team including other disciplines, such as cost estimators, structural engineers, CAD designers, and others
