Serves as a key liaison between all Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) Engineering groups and the site work management process, including refueling outage preparation and execution. This role represents CNS Engineering at various cross-functional meetings and ensures that engineering deliverables are completed in alignment with T-week schedules and outage milestones. Independently performs engineering responsibilities, including trending and monitoring equipment performance; evaluating, selecting, and applying established engineering principles, procedures, and criteria; and developing recommendations for maintenance, replacement, or modification of equipment. Assignments typically involve engineering analysis, problem-solving, and providing technical support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of station assets. Collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including field personnel, technicians, and other engineers. This position may require assignment to the Emergency Response Organization (ERO). Individuals in this role must be capable of reporting to the station and fulfilling assigned emergency response duties within 45 minutes of notification, as a condition of continued employment. Engineer levels (I through V) are part of a defined career progression and are assigned based on qualifications and approval by management. Engineering roles are governed by the NPPD Nuclear Engineering Career Path framework. Assignments are structured to build foundational knowledge of professional engineering practices within the electric utility industry, while also developing effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
