About The Position

The Level I Technology Engineer supports the development, testing, and application of metals and alloys. This role focuses on process development, continuous improvement, and quality and cost control initiatives. The engineer will collaborate closely with production personnel, operations supervisors, and technical teams across the organization to ensure efficient and consistent manufacturing performance.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of basic metallurgy principles and materials science.
  • Proficiency with process analysis, conducting controlled experiments, and the ability to summarize data are required.
  • Must have problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Understanding safety and quality standards in metal processing.
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations is required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering or Materials Science.
  • Experience with process analysis, conducting controlled experiments, and the ability to summarize data are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with statistical analysis and Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Experience with project development, implementation, and management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests on metals to determine their physical, chemical, and mechanical properties.
  • Inspect and test metal products to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications, documenting results and reporting deviations.
  • Working directly with customers, sales, and the process design team on new product development opportunities.
  • Reviewing order inquiries to assess our ability to meet customer requirements.
  • Continuously improving current processes to positively impact quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Interacting directly with Quality Assurance and supporting the sales team to address any customer technical concerns.
  • Establishing relationships and interacting with many other ATI operating locations to learn and share best practices.
