About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of embedded control applications, offering a broad product portfolio including microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, and various connectivity devices. The company emphasizes time-to-market for competitive FPGA product development. This position is within the R&D software development team, focusing on creating a modern ecosystem to facilitate the transfer of data, models, and FPGA design information into software for internal and external customers. The successful candidate will design and develop efficient, accurate, and elegant cutting-edge software solutions to fully automate the transition from design to software, with the role evolving to include issuing recommendations and rule checking tools to establish a software-driven FPGA product design.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • 0-2.5 years of experience in a related field
  • Strong knowledge in C++, as well as a deep understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Experience with shell scripting languages (Python, Bash, TCL)

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with source code management systems (Git, bitbucket, Jira)
  • Exposure to parallel programming techniques, like TBB
  • Familiarity/knowledge/experience with any of the following would be a plus: FPGA architectures, AI/ML-driven applications, AI-based code development
