About The Position

This individual will be responsible for providing the quality assurance support necessary to ensure that purchased parts and manufactured goods conform to company standards for design, procurement, manufacture and reliability. Perform complex tasks to develop, apply and maintain quality requirements of products during design through manufacturing. Assist, as directed, in meeting department goals and objectives as established by Management. Implement and facilitate Continuous Improvement activities. This includes quality, productivity and effectiveness improvement in quality and manufacturing utilizing Six Sigma tools and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 0 - 2.5 years' experience and/or training in Quality; or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or similar environment, preferably printed circuit board design/electronics assemblies.
  • Familiarity with the application of Six Sigma and 8D methodologies and tools to determine root cause and corrective action implementation for internal/external customer issues.
  • Experience utilizing current quality and LEAN philosophies, processes, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working directly with military and space customers and/or military and space standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Minitab SPC application.
  • Auditing skills. (ISO, TL9000, AS9100)
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Lead trainer for IPC-610, J-STD-001, and certifications for internal employees.

Responsibilities

  • Support operations by identifying, analyzing, and resolving product and process quality issues using Six Sigma methodologies; collaborate with inspectors, suppliers, and engineering to drive corrective actions to completion and improve drawings, specifications, and manufacturability.
  • Audit manufactured goods conformance to pertinent Engineering & Manufacturing Standards.
  • Provide routine reporting to company management on observed trends in procured material quality and product quality, making recommendations for improvement and corrective action.
  • Performs First Article Inspection (FAI) on PCBA's, pre-fab parts, sheet metal parts, Systems, etc. Following workmanship standards/procedures and company spec/guidelines.
  • Drive supplier quality activities, including supplier and process audits, evaluation and re-evaluation of suppliers, support of contract manufacturers, and quality oversight during product transfers, new product introductions, and change management activities.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings providing inputs on supplier/manufacturing quality related items.
  • Lead nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using the Agile PLM system in accordance with established quality processes.
