The Quality Engineer-I will provide QA support to design and manufacturing operations, including coordinating New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, monitoring manufacturing, inspection, and test processes, and implementing quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • US Person
  • Four-year degree (Preferably Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
  • Candidates with a relevant 2 year degree will also be considered.
  • Candidate must be willing to attend additional industry training assignments (ex. AQS certification, Six Sigma/Lean, DfR Concepts, Microchip Learning Center programs) as determined by the organization and the Quality Management team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States. Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Responsibilities

  • Support/Lead NPI activities through coordination of pilot runs, documentation reviews/updates, co-hosting NPI meetings, etc.
  • Support Configuration Management team with review and release of assembly & test travelers, assembly & test SOP’s, etc.
  • Assist the Quality Engineering team with the development and maintenance of the quality management system.
  • Participate as an audit team member to ensure compliance to AS9100, ISO9001 certifications, and assess effectiveness of the quality management system.
  • Support the Continuous Improvement of operations through process audits, KPI metric data collection and reporting.
  • Help facilitate continual improvement and learning culture across all functional areas through training and communication of quality/reliability initiatives.
