About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an Engineer I-Product Marketing (Technical) to support assigned oscillator product portfolios, primarily for military/defense applications. This role involves partnering with Product Line Managers on go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and customer messaging. The position requires owning outbound content creation, including website updates, presentations, and collateral, ensuring technical accuracy. Responsibilities also include planning and executing product launches, conducting market and competitive research, and increasing product awareness through social media and campaign support. A key aspect of the role is maintaining working technical knowledge of oscillator design, test, and production documentation. The first year will involve a structured learning plan with engineering and production teams, with an expectation that the ramp-up period will take time due to the product set's depth. Regular interface with various departments such as engineering, production, purchasing, drafting, supply chain, and management is expected to coordinate updates and keep deliverables on schedule. The role also involves using and standardizing artificial intelligence (AI) tools for marketing effectiveness and developing into a local subject-matter resource for AI initiatives. A strong work ethic, team-first mindset, and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a collaborative, lower-pressure environment focused on long-term growth are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability (or strong interest) to learn oscillator timing technology and become conversant in RF discrete/hybrid oscillator assemblies used in high-reliability applications.
  • Knowledge of, or strong desire to learn, AI tools and best practices; willingness to develop into an internal expert for applying AI to marketing and other value-added areas.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel for technical presentations, documentation, and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with superb technical writing ability; able to produce clear, accurate, customer-facing technical/marketing materials.
  • Comfort collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, production, purchasing, drafting, supply chain, and management in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables with attention to detail, quality, and version control (web assets, datasheets, presentations, and release materials).
  • Self-starter who works well with minimal supervision while maintaining a team-oriented, respectful working style.
  • Ability to work on-site in Mount Holly Springs, PA, and engage directly with the teams and production floor where products are built and tested.
  • Willingness to travel less than 5% as needed for business support.
  • Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3) due to U.S. Export Controls Requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support assigned oscillator product portfolios (primarily military/defense) by partnering with Product Line Managers on go-to-market execution, product positioning, and customer/segment messaging.
  • Own outbound content creation and upkeep: Microchip website updates (product pages, parametric tables), presentations, application-focused content, and collateral that accurately reflects product capabilities and specifications.
  • Plan and execute product launches, including launch plans, internal enablement materials, and external communications (press releases and announcements) in collaboration with Marcom/Digital Marketing.
  • Develop market and competitive research (customers, programs, applications, and industry trends) and convert findings into practical marketing strategies and recommendations.
  • Increase product awareness through professional social/platform engagement and campaign support, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with defense customer expectations.
  • Maintain working technical knowledge of oscillator design, test, and production documentation (specifications, schematics, test procedures/results, and production travelers) to ensure marketing materials remain technically correct.
  • Complete a structured first-year learning plan embedded with engineering and production teams; expect the ramp to take time due to the depth of the product set, progressing at a steady pace appropriate to the individual.
  • Interface regularly with engineering, production, purchasing, drafting, supply chain, and management to coordinate updates, resolve information gaps, and keep deliverables on schedule.
  • Use (and help standardize) artificial intelligence (AI) tools and workflows for marketing effectiveness and other business areas; develop into a local subject-matter resource as part of a company-driven initiative.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and a team-first mindset while delivering high-quality work in a collaborative, lower-pressure environment focused on long-term growth.
