About The Position

The Control System Engineer is responsible for developing engineering designs, performing technical reviews, and configuring and testing control systems that meet code, contract, and schedule requirements for Mitsubishi Power projects in the Americas. The role primarily supports control systems for large-frame industrial gas turbines operating in simple cycle and combined cycle configurations with steam turbines, with potential expansion to additional plant control systems. Responsibilities also include customer training and both remote and on-site technical support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training in control systems.
  • Experience with advanced process control, distributed control systems, PLCs, SCADA, OPC/Modbus, and industrial communication systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, regulations, and standards, and prepare reports and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills to define problems and develop sound technical conclusions.
  • Proficiency with databases, project management tools, spreadsheets, word processing software, email, graphics, and technical diagramming tools.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25–50 pounds in moderate to loud environments.
  • Travel overnight approximately 10% and perform other duties as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with networking fundamentals, DIASYS Netmation, PLC/DCS platforms, and industrial control system cybersecurity standards.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international electrical and safety codes and standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, review, maintain, and modify control system architectures and configurations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, purchasing, sales, and project management teams.
  • Develop RFQs and support procurement of control system equipment.
  • Configure Mitsubishi control system HMIs and databases.
  • Support manufacturing activities including inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Support field operations with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit accurate technical reports documenting conditions, actions, and results.
  • Deliver classroom and on-the-job training for Mitsubishi control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, quality standards, and site requirements.
  • Travel overnight approximately 10% and perform other duties as required.
