About The Position
This is the first level of the Engineering classification where you will provide engineering/technical expertise to solve problems in a specific area of expertise, with close supervision. You will develop skills in your field of study, and the ability to work with greater independence.
Requirements
- Regular attendance is required
- Bachelor's degree from an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering Program OR an approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES OR graduation from a Master's or Doctoral Program in Engineering from an institution with EAC/ABET accredited Undergraduate Engineering Programs
- Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles
- Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
- Understanding of basic electricity and power quality
- Knowledge of Distribution construction standards and methods
Nice To Haves
- Valid driver's license
- Received a passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam
- Understanding of basic principles of project management
- Knowledge of the utility industry
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems
- Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
- Detailed and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
- Continuous improvement of job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
- Accurate records and files
- Support of Pike Engineering's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
- Participate in storm restoration activities as need
