About The Position

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining the physical structure of the hotel using hand tools and power tools. The role involves performing minor routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. The engineer will also replace air conditioner filters, notify management about the need for major repairs, and may tend to the furnace, air conditioner, and boiler. Additionally, the position requires timely execution of assigned tasks and projects, responding to guest or management requests, and maintaining accurate records of work performed. Adherence to company policies, core values, and maintaining a professional appearance through uniform and name badge are also essential.

Requirements

  • High school completion or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Understand and use specifications.
  • Use hands, arms, and fingers.
  • Work to precise measurements.
  • Visualize how finished product will look or how system will operate.
  • Use arithmetic to measure, compute number of materials to use, and to inspect product to be sure it conforms to requirements.
  • Lift and move materials and products.
  • Climb and balance self.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains hotel by performing minor routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
  • Replaces air conditioner filters.
  • Notifies management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • May tend furnace, air conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
  • Execution of assigned tasks, projects, or programs, as instructed by the department’s management and ensure completion competently within a given time.
  • Ensure any work requests that may come from the hotel guests or senior management are responded to within a given time. All such requests are to be recorded along with what action is taken.
  • Required to be always in uniform when working on the property, including wearing a name identification badge.
  • Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
  • All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
