About The Position

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining the physical structure of the hotel using hand tools and power tools. The role involves performing minor routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. It also includes tending to furnace, air conditioner, and boiler systems to ensure guest comfort, and responding promptly to work requests from guests and management. Adherence to company core values, mission statement, and service standards is expected, along with maintaining a professional appearance in uniform and with an identification badge.

Requirements

  • High school completion or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Understand and use specifications.
  • Use hands, arms, and fingers.
  • Work to precise measurements.
  • Visualize how finished product will look or how system will operate.
  • Use arithmetic to measure, compute number of materials to use, and to inspect product to be sure it conforms to requirements.
  • Lift and move materials and products.
  • Climb and balance self.
  • Work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
  • Work with a variety of situations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains hotel by performing minor routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
  • Replaces air conditioner filters.
  • Notifies management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • May tend furnace, air conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
  • Executes assigned tasks, projects, or programs, as instructed by the department’s management and ensures completion competently within a given time.
  • Ensures any work requests that may come from the hotel guests or senior management are responded to within a given time.
  • Records all work requests and the actions taken.
  • Is required to be always in uniform when working on the property, including wearing a name identification badge.
  • Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
