Requirements

• Previous experience as a commercial painter required, hotel experience preferred.
• Must be able to brush, roll, spray, and work on different textures.
• Must be able to patch, float, and repair damaged surfaces.
• Must be able to work with stains, lacquers, varnishes, epoxy and Bondo.
• Must be able to apply caulk.
• Must be able to work on a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Must be able to interact and communicate with the hotel guests.
• Must be able to Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
• Must work indoors and outdoors, including during extreme weather conditions.
• Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.

Responsibilities

• Use correct prep techniques and products, keep adjacent clean, mask or use drop cloths to protect areas not painted.
• Paint interiors and exteriors of buildings using the correct products for each job and be able to identify existing finishes.
• Be able to match existing colors and finishes and tint as necessary.
• Keep storeroom stocked; keep supervisor aware of par levels of products.
• Meet schedules as closely as possible. Keep supervisor informed of discrepancies. Stay motivated to complete on time. Operate a cart and pushcart.
• Know correct use of brushes, rollers and other painting equipment. Maintain this equipment, clean properly, etc.
• Clean any mistakes and clean up areas painted when complete.
• Be familiar with different painting techniques
• Responsible for any wall treatments as necessary. Including drywall repairs, patching, painting, wallcovering, texture, and faux finishes.
