The Engineer - Energy Control Systems will support and maintain the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Electric and Gas operations and ancillary modules/systems. This includes activities such as design, testing, and implementation of new systems and system support. The role involves defining and maintaining SCADA databases and definitions, managing telemetry data, and ensuring accurate information in the Electric Management System (EMS). The engineer will support the specification, design, testing, and development of the EMS to meet changing functional requirements, and design enhancements to the Energy Control Systems (ECS) to improve user interfaces. Responsibilities also include documenting commissioning procedures, providing operational assistance and troubleshooting, and coordinating the safe commissioning of new and redesigned intelligent electronic devices, instrumentation, and other systems in substations and connecting facilities. The role requires monitoring systems and components for adherence to operational requirements and standards for safety and reliability, analyzing key power system data to ensure safe and reliable operation of the bulk electric system, and working within the Control Center environment to support Cyber Security and NERC/CIP requirements. Maintaining and creating documentation for supported platforms and systems to meet regulatory requirements is also a key aspect of this position.
