About The Position

Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems. This position is specifically for the E50 innovations group which is pursuing robotics, remote video conferencing, artificial intelligence / data analytics and the application of other advanced technologies for fleet support. The candidate should have knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines and interest in developing / applying advanced technology solutions. Strong communications and project management skills and interest / experience with the system security plan risk management framework process are desirable. The position is for the E50 Digital Innovations group which is engaged in program efforts to integrate robotics into ship maintenance and repair. The group is also supporting Remote Support (shipboard video conferencing), data analytics and Artificial Intellilgence, and Video Maintenance Aids for fleet support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience
  • Master’s Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice To Haves

  • Robotics focus with knowledge of project management and basic programming skills.
  • Ship design, waterfront and Navy experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines.
