About The Position

Are you passionate about shaping communities through thoughtful planning and engineering? At Bohannan Huston, we are seeking a dedicated Engineer to join our Community Development and Planning Group. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance the built environment and improve quality of life. As an Engineer in our Community Development and Planning Group, you will contribute to a variety of projects, including residential and commercial site developments. Your expertise will help transform client visions into reality, creating sustainable and vibrant communities.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development or site design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS and other relevant engineering software.
  • Understanding of land development processes, including site analysis, zoning, permitting, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.
  • Creative thinker with strong analytical skills to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering designs for site grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
  • Collaborate on large-scale master planning efforts, integrating land use, transportation, and environmental considerations to create cohesive community plans.
  • Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning codes, environmental standards, and permitting requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Work closely with architects, developers, planners, surveyors, and other professionals to coordinate project efforts and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide support during the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits to ensure design intent is met.
