Engineer, CMP Engineering

Samsung Electronics•Taylor, TX
•$82,826 - $102,826

About The Position

Responsible for performing activities that maintain the flow of production through CMP tools, during their assigned shift, while maintaining world class quality. This includes but is not limited to: troubleshooting basic tool issues and making decisions based on effective data analysis; responding to qualification failures using existing procedures; proposing solutions using existing best-known methods and procedures; conducting change point monitoring review and data collection; performing data analysis and making informed decisions based on findings; providing shift support for abnormal events; and implementing operational projects using LEAN principles to improve existing practices and procedures. As a member of CMP, having high energy with a focus on safety, quality, and driving proactive continuous improvement is necessary. Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment· Serves as a primary point of contact or liaison between Technicians and Engineers to coordinate appropriate responses for equipment downs and disposition of material based on industry standard Statistical Process Control rules· Conducts basic root cause investigation of material, equipment, and process change points· Performs Daily Trend Monitoring and communicate potential failure points to CMP project engineers for critical CMP processes. Interface with process/equipment engineers and fab technicians to audit and evolve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and OCAPs for completeness and correctness. Evaluates and assesses critical thickness and defect parameters to determine if material should be reworked, scrapped, or continued to receive further processing. Follows documented procedures to perform rework, as needed, on non-conforming material. Regularly monitor current and incoming inventory and remove path restrictions to allow Continuous low of production material through CMP equipment, while providing feedback to supervisor and area lead(s) to ensure resources are allocated according to factory priorities. Use standardized closed loop techniques to track and close urgent tool interlocks or faults, and verify corrective actions taken are effective. Identify and drive operational improvement projects, using LEAN principles, to streamline or eliminate existing practices. (Multiple Openings)
