About The Position

The Class 2 Engineer helps ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained hotel environment. The role monitors central plant operations, maintains HVAC and other building equipment, supports other technicians, handles water treatment and refrigerant records, and follows hotel safety and emergency procedures.

Requirements

Previous maintenance experience.
At least two years of hotel and/or commercial building maintenance experience.
At least one year of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment experience.
Previous experience responding to emergency situations.
Good communication, attention to detail, time management, computer, and guest satisfaction skills.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
Ability to crawl for short periods.
Ability to bend, reach overhead, squat, and kneel for extended periods.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to use step stools and ladders.
Universal certification in refrigerant recovery.
Required license, as applicable.

Nice To Haves

Hotel experience and training are preferred.
Commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Monitor central plant operations and perform daily readings and testing.
Maintain HVAC equipment throughout the building, including in guestrooms, public areas, and function rooms.
Provide technical assistance to other technicians as needed.
Work on other equipment as needed.
Maintain inventory and order HVAC supplies.
Understand and follow Omni fire alarm procedures and other emergency procedures.
Understand and follow Omni Hotel rules and regulations.
Manage all water treatment.
Maintain accurate refrigerant logs.
Understand HAZCOM, Lockout/Tagout, and Bloodborne Pathogen Programs.
Maintain a clean work area, free of standing water, debris, or objects that could obstruct safe and effective work.
