Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, engineering management or a relevant field.
  • 4-8+ years of experience in body mechanical areas and relevant automotive assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very good knowledge of CATIA V5, including the ability to make 3D parametric models.
  • Coordinate CAD data and engineering releases.
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in problem-solving.
  • Ability to lead simultaneous engineering projects.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the bolt-on-structures to the ladderframe for all new products, covering the entire development cycle from concept to manufacturing launch.
  • Creating the CAD-Data of the parts (e. g. towing hooks, bolted on structural reinforcements, body-mounts, …).
  • Coordinate component development activities to achieve cost, functionality, weight, manufacturability, and vehicle performance targets.
  • Define design verification plans and align with the test engineers.
  • Working together with suppliers and engineering service providers.
  • Be a part of a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Support virtual and physical verification activities, including prototype builds, validation testing, field testing, and issue resolution to ensure production readiness.
  • Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
  • Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
  • Manage resources efficiently including infrastructure, financial, supplier partners and people.
