About The Position

This role focuses on managing DevOps for AWS, owning infrastructure code, and driving release management processes. The engineer will be responsible for configuring various AWS services, addressing cybersecurity findings, and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems. The position requires a strong understanding of serverless architectures, modern authentication/authorization, and CI/CD practices. The engineer will also be involved in scripting for automation and incident response, as well as managing distributed systems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in application operations, SRE, or platform engineering in a cloud-native environment (AWS preferred)
  • Strong understanding of serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge)
  • Deep knowledge of modern authentication/authorization — OAuth 2.0, JWT, PKCE, mutual TLS, API key management
  • Familiarity with OWASP, CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, or SOC2 controls
  • Hands-on CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, ArgoCD, or similar)
  • Writing associated configuration files to accommodate build/deployment requirements
  • Experience with security tooling — SAST/DAST scanners, dependency auditing, secrets management, WAF configuration
  • Proficiency with observability platforms (CloudWatch, X-Ray, Datadog, Grafana, or equivalent)
  • Strong scripting (Bash, Python, or Node.js) for automation, incident response tooling, and reporting
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • HIPAA-compliant infrastructure experience
  • AWS Security Specialty or equivalent certification
  • Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, or CloudWatch Logs Insights at scale)
  • FinOps awareness — correlating cost with operational and security posture

Responsibilities

  • Manage DevOps for AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Own infrastructure code and make required changes
  • Manage release process and relevant improvements, driving to success
  • Ability to drive process in additional platforms over time
  • Configure AWS services such as Lambdas, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, SES, Cognito, IAM, S3, EventBridge
  • Distill findings from the security team and address any actions
  • Map security callouts raised by the security team to applicable AWS services
  • Create actionable lists of items to resolve security findings
  • Continuously monitor and address findings from automated scans
  • Continuously maintain monitoring and alerting for various AWS services to ensure quick triage by the team in the event of failure or outage
  • Configure notification mechanisms
  • Manage DLQs, event replay, and ensure idempotency in distributed systems
